I found this GE Profile PXCF22RBS Hot and Cold Water Dispenser Cooler at a local Home Depot and it was the only option available. Because it was moderately priced, I opted to buy this one, although I wasn't too crazy about the storage compartment feature (useless to me). However, I was excited about the tri-temp feature (cold, room temperature, and hot), because I like to drink water at room temperature. I thought I no longer had to mix hot and cold water to get the room temperature water like I did with my old dual-temp Whirlpool water dispenser.
I was wrong. The room temperature feature DOES NOT WORK to dispense "room temperature" water most of the time. It dispenses COLD water. But this is not the most annoying problem I have with this unit. This unit constantly makes weird noises from the first day I bought it. It sounds like a distant chicken farm noise. I think noise is a staple for GE appliances, as my GE refrigerator is also noisy.
The good thing is, the cold and hot water features work fine. I hope this unit holds up better than my old dispenser.
